Children are left with no instruction on how to live an active healthy life. Childhood Obesity is a disease or condition that is caused by Nature but Nurture plays an important role in how our genetics react. Obesity tends to run in families and most likely has a genetic source. Yet there are many environmental influences that affect a childs weight. We must take into consideration that family members not only share genes but also consume the same diet and follow similar routines and have habits that may cause the child to become obese. Separating environmental factors from genetic factors is challenging. It is a known fact that we cannot change our genetic makeup, but we can change and control our environment. Some people can eat and not gain weight, others due to a slow metabolism must be very aware of their caloric intake; this is genetically controlled. Our body controls the metabolism and weight of thin people with the same basic organs and it does an obese person. It may be a hormone, or a protein, or body size and shape that makes one person larger that another. Knowing this we must adapt to our environment. In the classical play â€Å"Antigone† by Sophocles, two of the main characters are sisters, Antigone and Ismene. The pair get into plenty of trouble, and are alike and different in througout the story. They are the daughters of the previous king, Oedipus. Their brothers have just killed each other in the battles between Thebes and Argos, Thebes emerging the victor. Polyneices fought for Argos whilst Eteocles fought for Thebes. The uncle of the family, whose name is Creon, has taken the throne in absence of a male descendant of Oedipus. Creon decrees that the burying of Polyneices be forbidden, and provides a proper religious burial for Eteocles. The sisters are very alike in many ways. Antigone and Ismene are both fairly outraged about the fact that their brother will not have a proper entrance into the afterlife. They don’t think that Creon should disallow them to bury their brother properly. This shows that Ismene would share the punishment with Antigone, and die for her family. Even though both sisters are willing to die for their family, they came to that conclusion in different ways. In the the beginning of the play, Antigone is trying to convince Ismene to come and bury Polyneices body with her. Ismene is angry about the way her deceased brother is being treated, but not enough to accompany Antigone to do the deed. Antigone pleads to Ismene, â€Å"Will you lift up his body with these bare hands and lower it with me? † (Antigone 52-53). Ismene is not quite sure what to do at this moment, she is not certain that she wants to cross the law with her sister. She declines Antigones offer replying, â€Å"Now look at the two of us, left so alone. Think what a death we’ll die, the worst of all if we violate the laws and override the fixed decree of the throne, it’s power we must be sensible. remember that we are women, we’re not born to contend with men. † (Ismene 70-75). These two quotes show how Antigone is willing to pay the toll for disobeying the law and her uncle, while Ismene is too fearful to disobey Creon. It also shows that Ismene is more of a follower, rather than a leader, because she later follows in Antigones footsteps and defies Creon. These two sisters underwent a very challenging and confusing journey. They are very alike in that they both have very strong family ties to each other and their deceased kin. Antigone is very strong in her religious beliefs, and is willing to do anything to make sure that she and her family is favored by the gods. Ismene is unlike Antigone in that she would not disobey the law to convey her beliefs. The pair complement each other perfectly in the story, and can be very similar at times, but also show signs of diversity.

The Upper Room is constructed from concrete with inlayed stone and glass mosaic. It is a large-scale sculpture, yet it is very welcoming to the eye of the public and not overpowering. The sense of feeling invited into the piece comes partly from the pastel pink color of the concrete and the mystery of the mosaic pattern that is inlayed into it. The artists dynamic use of space also creates an inviting aura. There are steps leading up to a colonnade, which is not attached to an actual building. This is unusual when studying the history of architecture. The entire room was created by a series of surrounding columns, none of which are attached to any sort of wall or ceiling. The artist explained to me that he wanted to create an interior "room" as a part of the exterior environment he was given to display his work in. He wanted to create a space, rather then to create an object. He chose not to have an enclosed area, because that would make the work separate from the environment and the people in that environment as well. What is demonstrated throughout both plays is that people have double standards towards love. In the Cosi we see free love and characters that believe in free love such as Lucy, Nick and Doug. Free love is the belief of having sexual relations according to choice, without being restricted by marriage or long-term relationships. They believe in freedom in doing whatever you want but this is the complete opposite of how they treat the mentally ill. They treat them with not dignity that makes them restricted to being behind walls of an asylum. Free love is about freedom yet they are confined to their ward like traditional marriage because people fear them. This is not the definition of love. Louis Nowra wants us to love each other and not stereotyping people by giving labels to people that we fear but instead showing respect and compassion. That is what true love is. In Cosi Fan Tutte we see two men test the love and fidelity of their girlfriends. This displays the double standards that men have on love. They believe that is alright to for them to test love. Mozart tells us that love needs to be equal that one side can’t unfaithful and that is alright. Mozart is trying to make us question what love is, like Louis Nowra did in Cosi. Not only is the moon a feminine principle, it is also a symbol of transformation due to its own monthly cycle of change. With this in mind, it is clear upon a close reading of The Princess and the Goblin by George MacDonald that the grandmother figure is a personification of the moon, and as such is a catalyzing agent for Irene's maturation and transformation through the course of the novel. Taking this a step further, the elder Irene contains the threefold aspect of the Moon Goddess. She is Artemis, Selene, and Hecate; the crescent moon, the full moon, and the dark moon; maiden, mother, and crone (Rush, 149). Due to the three-fold nature of the grandmother, one can break this story into three parts. It begins with Hecate the Dark Moon and crone, moves to Artemis the crescent moon and maiden, and ends with Selene the full moon and the mother. After interacting with each of these aspects, Irene undergoes a significant transformation which ultimately leads her to the next aspect. This tripartite structure is prevalent in folklore. Irene encounters Hecate the Dark Moon in her first two visits to her grandmother. This image of the grandmother is reinforced in two ways in Irene's encounter with her. First, her physical description matches the dark aspect, "she was dressed in black velvet with thick white heavy-looking lace about it; and on the black dress her hair shone like silver"(MacDonald, 13). Silver is the metal associated with the moon (Jobes 119). In addition, as Hecate is one of the caretakers of children (Stapleton, 89) and in the second scene with the grandmother, while she is still Hecate, she heals Irene's injured thumb. However, there is a much more subtle way in which the grandmother is developed as being Hecate. Since Hecate is the moon before, "she has risen and after she has set," (Jobes 1120) then the dark aspect of the grandmother in her first two scenes demonstrates that Irene is still in the dark period before her major transformation, before being brought into full illumination. Despite being within the dark aspect, Irene still benefits from her first encounter with her grandmother and thus undergoes a small change. As Sudha Murthy recalls – â€Å" I always looked up to JRD. I saw him as a role model for his simplicity, his generosity, his kindness and the care he took of his employees. Those blue eyes always reminded me of the sky; they had the same vastness and magnificence.† (Sudha Murthy is a widely published writer and chairperson of the Infosys Foundation involved in a number of social development initiatives. Infosys chairman Narayana Murthy is her husband.) So i chose JRD Tata not only because he has stood up and shone in the field of business or went on to capture varied field and have the capability to see beyond the normal horizons and peek into what lay generations ahead but also because people remembered him to be a good human always. He is known for his kindness, simplicity and the care he took of people around. He goes on to teach everyone a lesson of humbleness and significance of â€Å"karma† in ones life. He personifies – simple living, high thinking and teaches us how to maintain a balanced personality. There is one quote of his, which reflects a great volume of him – â€Å"BE NICE TO PEOPLE ON YOUR WAY UP, FOR YOU NEVER KNOW, WHOM YOU WILL MEET, ON YOUR WAY DOWN† JRD Tata never let success deviate him from a path of being a human. The acknowledgment that one day what has been built with hard work, sweat and time may cease to exist, made him altogether more grounded and related to reality and people. The views which i would want to adopt in my life are the humbleness and kindness. For he makes me realize that it’s not a person’s bank account which makes people like him, it is the behaviour which he has. It’s about being a human. Yes, it will always be about hard work and dedication to succeed. To be able to take risks and trust your decisions but it will also be about the fact that after every failure you would have the courage to try again. Its about doing your work with sincerity and the rewards and acknowledgments shall follow without even looking for them. Its about learning the elementary of life – that loss is a reality and loving what you do is the best thing you can ask for. I have imbibed the fact, that if you wish to leave a mark behind, you have to be honest and truthful to your work but at the end of it all, being a good human is more essential than creating a good product for consumption. In the end nothing describes him better than his own words – â€Å"I never had any interest in making money. None of my decisions were influenced by whether it would bring me money or wealth, all I was concerned about was, sleep at night.† -JRD TATA.
